Sunday on the ‘Nard is back bigger and better than last year. The Esplanade (aka the Nard) will come alive with FREE events for the entire family, all Sunday long.
FREE KIDS FESTIVAL (ALL DAY)
There will be free craft activities including Pastel Finger Art, make your own upcycled headdresses, musical instrument making, and once you’ve made your instrument, you can parade your creations through the playground.
At 10am Children’s Theatre Company, Roundabout Theatre presents ‘Colours’ – an inclusive, playful journey, which invites children to create rainbows from opinionated primary colours. From 9am Deepika will guide kids and parents in a fun Bollywood workshop and performance.
10am FNQ Hmong Youth Society will host a range of fun games and activities for parents and kids
11am Visit Cairns Libraries Pop Up Library (open all day) for a book reading with a Cairns Taipan.
11am – 1pm Follow Crazy Bron as she weaves her way through the Muddy’s Playground to the Muddy’s Cafe on a musical adventure!
FREE FAMILY CONCERT
Throw a blanket down on the grass near the Lagoon and enjoy a late afternoon wind down with this FREE concert featuring the best of local talent, and Troy Cassar-Daley!
At 4pm Ryo Montgomery and Tiffany Smith will perform their eclectic country-folk fusion.From 3pm the entertainment starts with local songstress Greta Stanley. Hailing from Mena Greek, 2014 saw the songstress land support gigs for the likes of British India, Kingswood & The Beautiful Girls. Relax and listen to the captivating vocals of this rising star.
At 5pm be mesmerised by the beautiful voices of the Cairns Gondwana Indigenous Children’s Choir. Gondwana National Indigenous Children’s Choir creates a pathway for Indigenous young people from across Australia to come together and take part in musical, social and cultural education and performance opportunities.
At 5:30pm headlining the day will be THE multi award winning, national artist Troy Cassar Daley.
