Shop

The park shop stocks newspapers, ice, gas, milk, cold drinks, ice creams and basic grocery needs, and provides a daily incoming and outgoing mail service.

Broadband Internet access is available on a public computer in the office, and Wi-Fi for your laptops.

Information Centre / Tour Desk

You can rely on the vast knowledge and first-hand experience of the staff for full tourist information and bookings for over 100 tours. Pick-up at the park can also be arranged for most of the popular tours.

Community Kitchen and Free BBQ

The community kitchen and BBQ are located within the resort style pool area. The modern stainless steel kitchen, complete with a large fridge and freezer have been designed to compliment the tropical setting. There is plenty of space to enjoy meals on your own or with other travellers. A shaded area with tables and chairs, overlooking the pool, provides a relaxing place to read or visit. The free stainless steel gas BBQs sit adjacent to the kitchen so that you can enjoy your meals in a pleasant environment.

Activities

Discover Cairns, City Sights Plus tour. A relaxing and informative documentary style tour covering Cairns History. Visit wharves, parks, botanic Gardens, lakes, beaches and more. Afternoon tea and transfers from the park are included. $65.00 per person

Kuranda Scenic Train and Skyrail. Self drive or pick up and drop off from park.

Drive your car to Skyrail at Caravonica, we will then transfer you to Freshwater Station for your train trip to Kuranda. Times are 8.55am for train leaving at 9.45am. Enjoy free time to explore the unique rainforest village of Kuranda, and then board Skyrail Rainforest cableway between 1.00pm or 3.00pm for your journey back to Caravonica. Self Drive cost is $109.00 per adult and with transfers to and from the park $116.00.

Choice of a morning or afternoon tour with Cairns Habitat Cruises. Only $62.00 per adult, enjoy a calm water cruise along the picturesque Trinity Inlet. With fantastic informative commentary about the diverse array of wildlife including crocodiles, native birds and over 70 species of fish, you will then be guided on a fascinating coach tour through the Cairns Crocodile Farm. Includes afternoon tea and transfers to and from the park.

The Great Barrier Reef. A magical day on the reef is certainly one of the highlights and must sees of the Tropical North. With a huge selection of tours to choose from let us show you the most suitable tour for your needs. We can highly recommend Reef Magic Cruises, who offer a fantastic reef experience on their outer reef pontoon, including a tropical lunch and semi submarine tour. Visit the inner reef islands, with your choice of Green Island, Fitzroy Island or the Franklin Islands, or all 3. Transfers are also available.

Self drive and visit spectacular local spots all within an hours drive from the park. 500 meters left from the park, turn left at the intersection and follow the signs to the Barron Gorge Hydro power station. Enjoy a wonderful scenic drive along the side of the gorge overlooking the Barron River.

Crystal Cascades waterfalls are located in the Redlynch Valley, just 10 minutes drive. Enjoy a 15 minute walk next to the crystal stream and a refreshing swim.

Copperlode Dam is an ideal spot for a relaxing bite to eat. Off Reservoir Road, turn right for a lovely scenic drive and the best views of Cairns.

Self Drive to Part Douglas and Mossman Gorge. Only 1 hour north is Port Douglas. Start the day at Rainforest Habitat Wildlife Sanctuary and have breakfast with the birds. From 8.00 am to 10.30am daily, be tempted with complimentary champagne and an extensive buffet breakfast, whilst surrounded by the wetlands environment the sanctuary provides.
If on a Sunday, drive in Port Douglas for the weekly markets. Drive on to Mossman Gorge just 15 minutes further north. The 2 klm walking circuit takes you through some stunning rainforest tracks, with a suspension bridge and towering trees. Don't forget your bathers.
